What is a Screencast?

A screencast is the video like capture (movie) of your computer
screen that can include your voice narrating what is being seen. It is
a fluid capture, showing all that you are doing, as opposed to one
screen at a time. The tools for screencasting help you capture the
video, edit it and produce compressed files that can be uploaded into a
website. They are great for demonstrating how software works and for
teaching concepts. It is great for teaching both the audio and visual
learners.
